Ecare Event: Speed dating
On the first day of the conference, we will host a special event for ECARE members: an academic speed-dating.
The format is simple: multiple tables will be set up, each with one or two senior researchers—who have kindly volunteered to take part in the event—and a small group of 4–5 ECARE members. Conversations are encouraged to be informal, ranging from scientific topics to career paths, challenges in academia, and personal experiences.
The event will take place on September 3rd from 7pm to 8.30pm at Laguna Libre, a cocktail bar located a 5-minute walk from the conference venue. Each participant will be offered one drink (additional drinks can be purchased on site at personal cost).
From 8:30 PM, the venue will host a jazz concert, with an entrance fee of €15 per adult and a reduced fare of €7.50 for students.
Participation is limited to 50 attendees, on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration is available at the link below.
NOTE: participation in the event is reserved for those attending the Assembly of Members (ending at 7:00 PM). At the beginning of the assembly, a sticker will be distributed, which will be required for access to the event.

Social Dinner Thursday, September 4 | 8:30 PM
As for tradition, the social dinner will take place on the second day of the conference at Laguna Libre, one of Venice's most distinctive and vibrant venues. Housed on the ground floor of the historic Palazzo Surian Bellotto — once the French embassy in the 18th century and home to Jean-Jacques Rousseau — Laguna Libre blends culture, art, and cuisine in an unforgettable atmosphere. More than just a restaurant, it defines itself as a cultural eco-osteria: rooted in Venetian culinary tradition yet enriched by influences from near and far, offering organic products, natural wines, and live music. A perfect setting to share a memorable evening with colleagues, good food, and the magic of Venice.
Starting at 7:30 PM, a substantial aperitivo will welcome guests, preceding the buffet dinner with two dedicated food stations. The cuisine at Laguna Libre is a blend of Venetian tradition and cosmopolitan creativity, featuring zero-kilometer ingredients, organic products from the Veneto region, and fish from the lagoon and the Adriatic Sea. Accompanying the evening, the Laguna Libre Fluid Jazz Orchestra will perform, with live concert moments alternating with convivial breaks. From 10:00 PM, the evening will continue with a DJ set and a dance floor.
Time: 7:30 PM – 11:30 PM
The cost of the dinner is €65 per person.
AIP-sperimentale on a dragon boat!
Venice means water, canals and rowing! We have the chance to organise a dragon boat excursion in the canals of Venice. Dragon boats (just google it) are traditional rowing boats that are typical of Eastern countries. They are quite popular in the Venetian lagoon too because they do not require specific training, nor do they require being super fit to be part of it.
The association VENICE CANOE & DRAGON BOAT organizes short trips on dragon boats. We have arranged an excursion for the last day of the congress, Saturday 5 September (starting time 17:30). Participants will receive a short training then they will jump on the dragon boat and paddle along the canals of the Cannaregio area. Participants will be asked to pay in advance. The activity lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs 21 euro (PAYMENT with paypal at massimo.grassi@unipd.it). If you are willing to participate, you must contact Massimo Grassi (massimo.grassi@unipd.it) to get enrolled in the activity. In the case of rain, the event will be cancelled and half of the cost is refunded by the association. There is a strict deadline for enrolling in this activity: you must communicate your participation and pay by 25 June 2026.
Participants must know how to swim.
